Purpose
Revision 1.0 | 19 October 2026 | Warehouse + on-site event badge production
Steps
Before operating
- Set on dry, level surface with minimum 4-inch clearance; use grounded power. Two-person lift (approx. 19 kg).
- Check compatible 5.50 x 3.46-inch PVC card stock (24 mil), ZC10L ribbon, cleaning roller, card catcher, USB cable and Windows driver.
- Confirm cover/drawer are shut, waste bin empty, and all components clean.

Card stock loading

- Touch card edges only; rock stack roughly 45 degrees to separate, then square.
- Pull pusher plate, install cards tabbed side DOWN, lay stack flat; install catcher, close drawer.

Ribbon + cleaning roller

Install cleaning roller

- Fit cleaning roller LONG LEFT, SHORT RIGHT; push until click.
- Fit ribbon SUPPLY spool toward REAR, TAKE-UP spool toward FRONT. Take up slack by rotating supply spool; shut cover.
Windows connectivity + print setup

Correct badge orientation and margins

- Install ZC10L Windows driver before connecting the USB cable. During installer, power on and connect USB when prompted.
- Choose the correct printer in event platform. Match page artboard and Windows printer orientation; print card actual size (5.50 x 3.46 in) unless an approved workflow uses another setting.
- Run and approve one physical test badge for text, photo, code, registration and edge treatment before printing bulk orders.
During production
- Keep completed stock segregated from rejects and attendee data secure.
- Check print alignment and quality periodically. On faults, pause batch, diagnose, print a single test then resume.
- Track card counts, reject reason, print ribbon and affected job/event.
Maintenance

Empty the tab waste bin

- At least monthly: power off and allow printhead to cool; clean printhead heat element, tension bars, platen and cleaning roller with lint-free cloth and isopropyl/ethyl alcohol.
- Empty tab waste bin: open drawer, remove bin, empty contents, refit, close.
- Remove stock, ribbon and cleaning roller before moving/shipping; use original packaging.
Troubleshooting quick checks

- Straight repeating white line: clean printhead; persistent line requires service. Spots: clean cleaning roller, head and platen. White edge: inspect design, size and scaling.
- Card jam: open cover; remove ribbon; turn green advance wheel clockwise; remove card gently.
- Power on / Media on / Error on could mean card feed, out of ribbon, or tab waste full.
- If unresolved after one controlled fix and test, stop printing and escalate to service lead.
